ISM Code 6.5:
"The Company should establish and maintain procedures for identifying any training which may be required in support of the SMS and ensure that such training is provided for all personnel concerned."
Partnership have implemented and as part of our activity on our branch office in Klaipeda, Lithauen, and in connection to our crew agency activities there, several courses for Baltic & Russian sailors, who seeks employment on Norwegian og other West Europeen ships.
For the time beein, we offer the following courses and training programs:
Course: Basic English Course (Safety & Familiarization)
Description: The basic english safety and familiarization course as required. After completition of the course all participants is to have a mandatory language test.
Duration: 2 weeks
Course: Extended English Course
Description: This course is giving the crew members an extended understanding and practise in the english language, with focus on the maritime terminology. There is tailormade courses for cooks who shall serve on west europeen ships. After completition if the course, the participants to have an examination, and the participants is to be issued a diploma when passed the examination.
Duration: 4+4 weeks
Course: ISM Course Part I & II
Description: An introduction to the ISM Code, and the shipboard systems in that regards. Especially forcused on the shipboard systems, and the crewmembers tasks in relation to the implemented safety system based on the ISM Code.
ISM Code 6.7: "The Company should ensure that the ship's personnel are able to communicate effectively in the execution of their duties related to the SMS." ISM Code 6.6: "The Company should establish procedures by which the ship's personnel receive relevant information on the SMS in a working language or languages understood by them. Duration: Part I = 2 weeks; Part II = 2 weeks
Course: Western Culture Shipping Course
Description: The course seeks to build bridges between eastern and western thinking, and understanding on how to run a ship, of responsibilities and rights. This course is aimed to give the sailors a adequate understanding of how western shipowners is normally performing their business.
Duration: 1 week
Course: Shipboard Administration Course
Description: Courses designed for Masters, Cheif Engineers and Chief Officers to prepare them for extensive paper work in relation to shipboard administration, ISM Code etc.
Duration: 1 week
Course: Shipboard Computer System & Software
Description: Courses designed for ships crew in connection with with the implementation, use and maintenance of the ships computer system and use of software.
Duration: 2 weeks
Course: Safety Familiarisation Course
Description: STCW and the ISM Code Familiarization courses that responds to the requirements of the Revised STCW Convention Chapter V Section A-V/2 and Chapter VI Section A-VI/1, thus fulfilling the requirements of the ISM Code Chapter 6 paragraph 6.3.
ISM Code 6.3: "The Company should establish procedures to ensure that new personnel and personnel transferred to new assignments related to safety and protection of the environment are given proper familiarization with their duties. Instructions which are essential to be provided prior to sailing should be identified, documented and given."

Course: Cooking & Cleaning Course
Description: For catering personnel.
